Name: Brother Ruadrí de Pacy

Origin: Born January 1171, in Scotland. The second son of a minor Norman knightly family, the de Pacys, who were granted lands in Scotland in the early 12th century. With no land to inherit, his future was in military service. His father sent him to the Knights of St. John to fulfill a vow and strengthen family connections.

Order: Knights Hospitaller (Knights of St. John)

Current Status: Sergeant-Brother, battlefield medic valued for saving lives in combat

Skills: Battlefield medicine, wound treatment, bone setting, poultice creation, combat

Novitiate & Training (Age 8, 1179)

Ruadrí was first taken to the Torphichen Preceptory before making the long sea journey to the East. Arriving in the Holy Land, he was sent to Castle Margat for training. Witnessing the constant casualties from skirmishes, he developed a practical skill for battlefield medicine, learning to stitch wounds, set bones, and create poultices.

Service as a Squire (Age 14, 1185)

Assigned to a Knight-Brother who led patrols from Margat, his duties were twofold: to fight in the skirmishes and to tend to the wounded in their immediate aftermath. He became adept at providing care in harsh conditions with limited supplies.

The Siege of Acre (1189-1191)

During the siege, Ruadrí served as a battlefield medic, moving with the reserve forces to treat the wounded directly behind the front lines. He participated in the defence of the camp during assaults but was primarily valued for his ability to save lives in the heat of battle. His service has been noted by his superiors.
