Step 5: Creating Your Persona
A "persona" is your medieval character - who you portray during events. This helps bring history to life and makes events more immersive.
Persona Development Tips
- Start Simple: Choose a basic occupation (farmer, merchant, craftsman)
- Research: Learn about your chosen period and occupation
- Be Realistic: Most medieval people were commoners, not nobles
- Have Fun: Your persona should reflect your interests

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to know how to fight?
No! Combat is optional. Many members focus on crafts, cooking, or other medieval skills.
How much does it cost to get started?
It depends. If you choose to make your own, then much of the cost of reenactment can be mitigated by your own use of time. If you want to just 'jump right in', basic kit can be purchased for as little as 100 to 200 dollars. Our members are happy to help you, and we can probably assist you with some loaned gear until you are ready to make the plunge.
Do I need to be historically accurate?
We require historical accuracy for our public events, but we understand it takes time to build a complete kit. Start with simple historically accurate kit, and then make improvements over time. Our members will be able to help you make the right decisions!
Can families join together?
Absolutely! We welcome families and have activities suitable for all ages.
How often do you meet?
We have regular events throughout the year.
